2025 Conference on the Question of Jerusalem
“Palestinian Oppression and Displacement in Jerusalem in the Shadow of the War:
A microcosm of the situation throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory”

The 2025 Conference on the Question of Jerusalem, organized jointly with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will take place in Dakar, Senegal. The event will reflect on the challenges faced by the Palestinian people in occupied East Jerusalem in terms of displacement, dispossession and violence and will provide the platform to assess the wider oppression across the OPT and for the unresolved legacy of the Nakba. It will address the international community’s legal and moral obligations to end the illegal occupation in its entirety, including in East Jerusalem.

Taking place shortly after the “High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution”, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia,  the UN-OIC Conference offers a timely opportunity not only to consolidate and advance its anticipated outcomes, but also to assess their relevance and effectiveness in addressing the specific challenges raised in the context of East Jerusalem and the broader occupation. It will enable the Committee and OIC Member States to align efforts across multilateral platforms, reinforcing the international consensus in support of Palestinian rights and the urgent call to end Israel’s illegal occupation. Building on the June Conference’s expected focus on the operationalization of General Assembly resolution ES-10/24, the UN-OIC meeting will serve as a platform to sustain momentum, examine early implementation of key action points likely to be adopted by Member States, and identify practical avenues for follow-up.
